Service Description

**CLASS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO HAVE ATTENDED OUR COURSES BEFORE** You are only eligible to take this recertification course if: *  You have a current, non-expired Heart & Stroke Basic Life Support certificate (issued in last 12 months)  OR  If you have completed the BLS Renewal Prerequisite Challenge Certificate (within the past 90 days).  Here is the link to the BLS Renewal Prerequisite Challenge: BLS Provider Renewal Prerequisite Challenge (heartandstroke.ca) NOTE:  The Heart & Stroke does not currently offer a grace period for those students who have let their CPR expire, nor do they recognize grace periods that have been extended to staff of AHS. Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives. It is designed for healthcare providers and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings or by those in a healthcare training program.  This course covers High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, Chain of Survival, Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), Ventilations using a barrier device and bag-valve-mask, Multi-rescuer resuscitation, Team Dynamics, and Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants.  Your certificate will be issued by the Heart & Stroke Foundation and will be valid for 1 year. Additional Information: *  If you have any injuries or medical conditions that could hinder your ability to practice skills and perform skills testing, please discuss with instructor prior to registering. *  Course materials and test are in English, if you have any concerns regarding reading/writing/speaking or understanding English, please discuss with instructor prior to registering. *  The BLS Provider Manual is mandated, and you must have access to one before, during, and after your course.  If you are wanting to purchase the New 2020 Guidelines BLS Student Manual, you can purchase your online copy here:  Buy 2020 Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Manual - HSF Resuscitation (gilmoreglobal.com).  We also have physical copies for purchase at the class for $15.

Cancellation Policy

If an emergency arises and you need to cancel your spot, you must provide us with at least 48 hours notice before the class start time.
